Dr. S. D. N. Guptha
Organising Chairman
DERMACON 2009
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome
you all to the 37th National conference of
IADVL, DERMACON 2009, at Bengaluru, organized by the KT
branch of IADVL.
Over the years, DERMACON has emerged as
the third largest congregation of dermatologists in the
world, with 5000 delegates attending the meeting.
This year we expect even more delegates as Bangalore, now
known as Bengaluru, is traditionally known for its
hospitality, academic excellence and successful
organization of conferences. All the previous
conferences held here, have been hugely successful and the
dermatology community in Bangalore have established a
tradition for holding such events.
This year too, we have planned a
conference which will be of a very high standard and I am
sure this will set new benchmarks; DERMACON-2009,
Bengaluru will be a prelude to our vision of holding a
World Congress of Dermatology and rightfully therefore our
motto for the conference is "Indian mission-Global
vision".
The conference will be inaugurated by
our esteemed former President of India and one of the
India's greatest sons, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
The key note address will be delivered by Pujya Guruji
Shri Shri Ravishankarji. A workshop on aesthetics and
a CME on Dermatotherapy will be the highlights of the
event. Main conference program will reflect
all the important topics in dermatology.
Several renowned speakers, both national and international
are expected to attend. Cultural events which
will depict the diversity of our heritage have been
planned.
Bengaluru known for it's salubrious
weather and tourist destinations beckons you.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee I assure you a grand
event and I take this opportunity to welcome one and all. |

As an Immediate Past President it gives me a great pleasure to write about the forthcoming DERMACON at Bangalore(Bangalur).
First of all The Venue Bangalur is a beautiful city with a very good climate.Added to this are the magnificent monuments worth seeing particularly The VIDHAN SOUDHA.Driving a couple of hours away one could catch a glimse of the exotic Brindavan Garden and beautiful palaces ( Mysore Palace should not be missed ) Driving up the gorgeous Nilgiri Hills to Ooty one would get the awesome fragrance of Eucliptus and staying in a Palace now converted into a 5 star hotel is an experience of grand living.
Bangalur is a high tech city acknowledged internationally and presentation of good scientific material will not be a problem in terms of equipment and technical knowhow. Moreover we have witnessed Dermacon earlier in the same city and there was no stone left unturned in making the conference a very valuable and educative in terms of its scientific value.
Now we have the same person Dr Sacchidanand as an Organisig Secretary and also as a President. He is capable of taking the Conference to a new height unscaled so far.
The success of this conference will open a door for us to organize THE WORLD CONGRESS in future for which we are making great efforts.
I WISH DR SACCHIDANAND AND HIS TEAM ------THE BEST OF LUCK

As President of the South Asian Regional Association of
Dermatologists (SARAD), I am delighted to invite you to
attend the DERMACON 2009, the 37th National Conference of
IADVL at Bangalore, India from 7th to 10th January 2009.
IADVL is the largest Member Society of the SARAD and we
are proud to have it as our integral part and its prowess
as a leader of Dermatology in South Asia shall be
effectively on display in the shape of Dermatological
expertise, excellence and advancement available in South
Asia.
Dermatology is a very diverse and vast field and
conferences are the ideal venue for us to update our
scientific knowledge, thoughts and ideas. They help us get
an insight to the research that is going on locally as
well as the world over. The occasion of a Dermatology
Congress enables us to discuss major advances and issues
in Dermatology, to identify the challenges that lie ahead,
to renew old friendships and initiate new ones.
I'm sure the organizers under the dynamic leadership of
Prof Sacchidanand are working hard and have perfected the
plans to put together a truly memorable Congress and give
the delegates a format, which shall provide state of the
art lectures as well as an exhibit of the latest happening
in the field of Dermatology. Workshops and Interactive
Sessions will allow lively debate and exchange of views.
In addition, Oral and Poster presentations will allow
everyone to contribute to this event.
Bangalore has an inexhaustible source of cultural
activities that participants will be able to enjoy after
the daily sessions. I'm sure the City of Cooked Beans has
a treasure of culinary delights that await us.

Dear Friends
I feel honored to write few lines at the occasion of DERMACON-2009, the 37th National Conference of IADVL, at Bangalore from 7th to 10th January, 2009. Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, ranks as one of the fastest growing cities in Asia. Bangalore, also called the “Silicon Valley of India” and the "Garden City of India" is well known for its flora & fauna, cultural and historical monuments, exhibiting elegance & architectural magnificence.
The medical science is progressing rapidly in the present era and there are new challenges evolving every day for the Dermatologists, especially in the developing countries. Such conferences serve excellently to overcome these challenges for the betterment of humanity. I hope the Organizing Committee will line up the scientific sessions in a way that would provide excellent professional forum for discussion on different matters of international interest.
See you in Bangalore-India in January, 2009.

President 2008
IADVL KT Branch
Dear friends,
It has been a long journey from Dermavision 2000 to
DERMACON 2009. There has been a sea change in dermatology
practice, so also in Bengaluru of yore. Dermatosurgery &
Cosmetology have come to the forefront. The advances in
diagnosis and therapy have made Dermatology a specialty of
choice. I hope DERMACON 2009 will be a pathfinder for a
renewed interest in clinical Dermatology, Leprosy &
Venereology.
I, on behalf on IADVL, KT Branch wish
DERMACON 2009 all the success. Let DERMACON 2009 be the
event where we meet, learn, enjoy and go back with
memories that shall linger forever.

In the past few years, DERMACONs have been particularly outstanding and covering a wide spectrum of medical and procedural dermatology. Workshops have contributed in training young dermatologists in newer procedures.
Bangalore has always given us memorable conferences and I am sure under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Sacchidanand, this conference is going to surpass all other conferences till date.
I sincerely wish Dr. Sacchidanand and the entire Bangalore team a great success.

Message from Seoul,
As president of the 22nd
World Congress of Dermatology, I sincerely congratulate
your meeting, Dermacon-2009, the 37th National
Conference of IADVL in Bangalore, India.
I would like to express my great appreciation to the
organizing committee for the kind invitation.
Very recently, the 8th Asian
Dermatological Congress took place in Seoul. Many
participants form India presented various subjects and
contributed much to the conference. I think it is a good
example for rapid globalization even in the field of
dermatology.
During May 24-29, 2011, the 22nd
World Congress of Dermatology will be held in Seoul, Korea
and about 20,000 participants are expected to attend from
all over the world. The organizing committee of the 22nd
World Congress of Dermatology is doing its best to achieve
a successful congress and has various ambitious plans,
such as providing many scholarships to young
dermatologists in developing countries including India. I
look forward to much contribution as well as active
participation from your country.
I also admire the great history of
Indian culture as well as the rapid recent development in
India, which I would like to confirm with my own eyes. In
this regard, I am looking forward to attending the
Dermacon-2009 and meeting dermatology friends of old and
new.
Once again, on behalf of all the Korean
dermatologists, I would like to congratulate this meeting.
Hee Chul Eun, President,
22nd World Congress of Dermatology
