Bangalore is the capital of

According to legend Bangalore
got its name from King Veeraballa of Vijayanagara. Once King Veeraballa lost his
way in forest. Hungry and tired, he came upon a lone hut in the thick forest
where he met an old woman. When he asked for food, she gave him baked beans
(Known as 'Benda Kalu' in Kannada). The King found this humble meal very tasty,
named the place "Benda Kalu Ooru" which meant the place of baked beans.
Bangalore will be renamed as Bengaluru.
